HSA Mentorship Program
The History Students’ Association will once again be offering a Mentorship Program for lower-year students for the academic year of 2016-2017. We will be pairing first/second-year students with upper-year history students (that's you) who are interested in similar kinds of history and who have already taken the courses mentees are currently enrolled in or who are studying a related field of history. As a mentor, you will primarily be an adviser to your lower-year mentees, answering questions about history courses, writing and researching in history, the history subject POSt at the University of Toronto, and the history department. You will also receive updates on any relevant activities the HSA is offering which you can pass on to your mentees. We are looking for enthusiastic and approachable upper-year students who want to impart their knowledge of history courses here at U of T. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with lower-year students. Prior mentoring experience is not required as the HSA will provide mentors with all the appropriate training. This is a great opportunity to become involved with the History Students’ Association, to meet other students passionate about history, and to improve your leadership skills.
Requirements for Mentor Candidates:
- Preference will be given to students entering their 3rd or 4th year in September 2015, although applications from students entering their 2nd year are welcome.
- Must be enrolled in a History subject POSt (Specialist, Major, or Minor in History)
- CGPA for all History courses taken must be at least 3.0
